Sharing Shapes!

Making Connections...

Last week, we made posters to share with each other.  Today, the students got to do a "get to know you better walk" where they walked around and looked at each others posters.  They asked questions, made connections and made positive comments.  I was impressed with how well they communicated with each other!!

HOMEWORK!

Today, we talked about the sphere and the cylinder shape.  Students are to bring in at least one thing that is either of those shapes to share with our class tomorrow!  Thanks! :)

Spare time??

So... next week I'm going to make some "writing books" for my writing center.  I'm pretty sure the kids will LOVE this opportunity!  And I'm also pretty sure they will want to make more and more books!  With that said, I am looking for any parent who has a little bit of free time to come in and help make some books ahead of time so that I'm prepared for this surge of activity!  Let me know if you're free to help and when you are available!

Yay!  Back to a great day today!  I felt terrible taking recess from so many kiddos yesterday, but they came in and were much better listeners today!  Great job, kiddos!!!

Our Day Today

Just a heads up-Room 21 friends had a rough day today.  The kiddos seemed to have forgotten the school rules including, not talking during a test, keeping voices to a whisper during centers, not talking in the hallway, talking respectfully to one another, and getting quiet when I ask as we are about to leave the classroom.

Many friends had to sit out during their second recess today.  There were many sad faces, but I think it will help us function better moving forward.

International Fair Pictures!!

We were visited by Italy, Chili and India!  We learned sooo much today!  Thank you so much to all of the parents that volunteered their time to teach us new things!!

Picture Day will be postponed.

Picture day was originally planned for tomorrow, but due to the anticipated weather, the company has cancelled for tomorrow.  I will let you know when they pick a new date!
